To make your trip to London simply perfect, it is quite important to get know the city from a local’s perspective. Talk to a few Londoners and get the insights about transportation, tips, etiquette and top London attractions. The locals are extremely reliable when it comes to giving you an overview of a place, as they know what they are talking about. Let us look at some of the top travel tips that no one but the locals can tell you.

Walk, walk and walk

walk

Do as much walking as possible to get a taste of London and how Londoners live. When tired, go to a cafe and look outside the window and watch people passing by. This definitely is the best way to feel London. And while you walk, keep your eyes and ears opened.

Enjoy the nightlife

One tip that every Londoner would offer tourists is to party, drink and have fun and yes, not to pick a fight. The city offers the best nightlife opportunities in Europe and is home to some of the best places to hang out.

Room for everyone – Take your pick

No matter what time of the year London you go to London, there is always accommodation available for you to stay here. There are hotels, serviced apartments in London, hostels and all kinds of accommodations suiting all budgets and requirements. You can stay at a fancy hotel or an apartment, smaller and cheaper hotels or hostels or volunteer to clean and cook for the hostel in exchange for your bed.

Assess the restaurants

London offers nice food at every price range. It’s a good idea to do some assessment before deciding where to eat, check if the place has lots of customers and if the people eating there are locals. If you explore London area locals enjoying the food, the place is a hit.

Get an Oyster Card

Buy an oyster card and always keep it on you. It really helps when you are travelling by public transport. An Oyster card is a smartcard that is easy to pay for journeys on bus, tube, London Overground, DLR, Tfl Rail and most of the National Rail services in London. You can put money on your card and use it to pay as you travel.

Avoid rush hour if you using public transport

rushhour

The tube is not a very pleasing experienceduring rush hour. Rush hours are from 07.30 am to 10.00 am and from 04.30 pm to 07.00 pm. It is very crowded due to locals going to and from work and it might be worth walking if you are not going too far

Explore new neighbourhoods

Some of the neighbourhoods in London are beautiful and much more developed now. You must check these out on your trip to London. Discovering these not-so-famous neighbourhoods is a perfect way to experience the life of London. You’ll see some beautiful attractions and also art galleries, cafes, restaurants and stores.

Stay safe

Last but not the least, stay safe and call the police if you see or experience anything suspicious. You should also document the trip. Write whenever you feel you have time. You’ll feel wonderful when you go through this later.
